Wenneker Woodworks is located on the southern shores of beautiful Georgian Bay, in the town of Midland, Ontario. The business is owned and operated by Koen Wenneker, who took over the family business from his father, Charles, in 2023.

Charles founded Wenneker Woodworks in the Netherlands in 1988 and relocated the business to Canada in December 1999, after immigrating with his family. Charles started his career in the summer of 1975 in Hoek van Holland in the Netherlands and developed himself towards a fine woodworker/cabinet maker, working in the restoration of buildings and furniture. He developed his eye for detail and his ability to sculpt and shape wood while restoring the antique woodwork found in some of Holland’s oldest and most admired historical buildings.

Koen has always had a strong passion for the woodworking trade; as a young child, he loved following his dad around the workshop, watching and learning, and spent his free time creating and experimenting with wood.  Koen is a highly driven individual keen on continuing the business into the next generation.

Koen and Charles continue to work together alongside a team of highly skilled and motivated craftsmen, who strive to maintain the high quality of work it has produced throughout the years.  Since moving to Midland, the two have built a solid base of nautical and residential clients who appreciate the level of quality and workmanship found in all Wenneker Woodworks products, some of which can be viewed in our photo gallery.

Wenneker Woodworks is dedicated to great customer service and their extensive experience enables them to effectively interpret their clients’ creativity and transform it into specialty custom woodwork.  With Charles' European influence and years of experience, and Koen’s modern perspective, they add multiple dimensions to their work. Wenneker Woodworks remains located in its original location on Highway 93 and operates out of their 3700 square foot woodworking facility equipped with a wide variety of machinery and tools, additionally offering mobile services to accommodate any project. Our service area is approximately 25 miles in diameter; however, we are occasionally willing to work beyond this.

Koen and Charles can often be found at one of Midland/Penetanguishene’s many marinas or working at the shop and are always delighted to talk wood!
